The Industry Leader
Strozzi Institute is the original architect of Embodied Leadership – a unique approach that combines neuroscience, holistic practice, action-oriented communication and mindfulness. Richard Strozzi, PhD in psychology, 7th degree black belt in Aikido and co-founder of the Lomi School, with 45 years of expertise, is one of the pioneers of somatics and embodied learning in leadership.
Our Methodology is Proven
Strozzi Institute Somatics teaches the “how” in actualizing the best leadership and coaching ideas, theories and intentions. Embodied learning creates transformation. At Strozzi, we have fine-tuned a unique and powerful methodology that produces sustained change. We work globally with a cross-section of leaders, Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, government agencies and social enterprises.
The Quality of our Teachers
The Strozzi Institute, under the comprehensive training of Staci Haines, has the most rigorous standards for our somatic teachers of any leadership or coach training organization in the world. We deliver on the promises of embodied leadership in action, assuring a level of mastery on behalf of our course teachers.

As a CA Benefit Corporation, Strozzi Institute is able to demonstrate our long-standing commitment to leadership that benefits people, the sustainability of the planet and viable, profitable businesses. As a certified B Corp, companies uphold rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
Embodied Learning (Somatics)
We propose a different approach to learning – embodied learning. Our approach works with small groups of no more than 30 and includes a number of practices that increase learning and retention. Embodied learning means knowledge is retained and utilized not only from the cognitive understanding of its importance, but of the felt experience of that knowledge through the body. This felt experience, or embodied learning, resonates within well after the course is completed.
Our neural circuitry runs through our entire body. The brain is only one of three (brain, heart, stomach) main neural circuitry areas. Embodied learning (somatics) utilizes all three areas to accelerate learning and embodiment, creating sustainable transformation.
In a world of continuous change and constant social innovation, learning has taken on new meaning. While it was once sufficient to be competent at the same job over a lifetime, we are now required to continually learn new skills, to partner with people of widely different backgrounds and to be flexible enough to change roles, job positions and organizational directions, quickly and skillfully. The conversation is no longer about learning over the course of our career – it is about learning over the course of our lifetime… Learning how to learn, so that we can adapt, change, take new actions and become more whole.
All Strozzi Institute programs are based on embodied learning. Through this methodology, we help people, teams and organizations learn to take new actions – ones they weren’t previously able to take, that are more aligned to their values. We define transformation as the ability to take new actions, aligned with your vision and your values, even under the same old pressures. Embodied learning creates transformation.
