David Treleaven, PhD, is an educator, writer and SI Somatic Coach in private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, and currently teaches with Strozzi Institute. He’s adjunct professor in the doctoral program of the East-West Psychology department at the California Institute of Integral Studies. David has focused much of his professional and academic life on the role attention plays in health and effectiveness, and is author of the book Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness published by W. W. Norton. He has lectured on mindfulness and Somatic Psychology at Brown University, St. Mary’s College, San Francisco State University and the University of British Columbia, and has presented his research at numerous conferences for the American Psychological Association. David co-founded the Vancouver Center for Contemplative Mind in Society, a secular organization that worked with corporate leaders to integrate contemplative awareness into their organization, and he also teaches with Strozzi Institute’s partner organization, generative somatics, offering Somatics to social and environmental leaders and teams looking to enhance their power and effectiveness.
