Thriving in Change: Somatic Practices to Transform Old Patterns, Embody Your Vision & Navigate Complexity
Click the YouTube logo to watch on YouTube and enable fullscreen
Embody the somatic practices you’ll need to stay centered and purpose-driven no matter what life brings.
Connect deeply to what matters most — and be guided through a step-by-step process to align your actions with your vision.
We’re in a time of accelerated growth and complexity...
We’re being called to co-create a new future together — and we each have a role to play.
Yet, as society opens back up and we we desire to do and be different, our old embodied habits and conditioning are rising to the top.
It’s this old conditioning that undermines your ability to move forward and flourish as you align your vision, values, and practices.
These habits and stories have grown out of everything from your childhood to current events.
They’re not necessarily even negative — they’re simply survival strategies you’ve developed in response to your environment so you can get your needs met.
Now, in the face of today’s challenges, you’re (understandably) responding to events in a similar way.
And just as you want so badly to move along on your path and experience growth, they’re holding you back.
The good news is, once you understand these deeply embedded habits and stories, you can unwind them — and create new ones as part of an integrated approach that creates lasting transformation in your life… and within the collective.
To move toward a life of vision, embodiment, and action...
Join us for this 12-week LIVE online course (eight classes and four coaching circle sessions) and learn how somatic awareness, somatic opening, and somatic practices intersect to create sustaining change.
Discern what you want for your life and long for most — and design declarations, your visions for the future.
Explore how we all have automatic and intelligent adaptations to the pressures of our lives and the world.
The body learns "yes" — meaning you practice and change toward what you want, not solely away from what you don't want...
Over 12 weeks, you’ll learn about your embodied habits, or Conditioned Tendencies, and explore how to transform those that no longer serve you...
As you’ll discover, this opens choices, allowing you to act toward what you care about, rather than become caught in reaction. You’ll cultivate a practice to embody your values, visions, and changeability.
Through the Strozzi Somatics methodology, you’ll both expand your ability to be present with what is, and purposefully transform toward possibility.
Explore pragmatic, depthful and lasting transformation with Strozzi Somatics — a unique embodied learning approach that fully integrates meditation, martial arts, language for action, somatic psychology, bodywork, and social context.
You’ll learn how to align your vision of who you want to be with embodied practices to help you live out what’s most important to you.

With practice, you can cultivate a calm, purposeful presence and become open to more possibilities — welcoming more choice into your life and moving from reaction to response.

Coaching Circle Week: Declarations 5:00-6:30pm Pacific (June 7- June 11)
Our resilience is inherent, yet when it’s stressed over and over again, our access to it can become limited.
In this session, you’ll learn to find and feel your resilience. You’ll also learn what gets called resilience but isn't.
Explore your habitual reactions under pressure. We all have ‘em, and came by them honestly. Our adaptations are embodied and become unconscious ways of being and behaving. Learn to access, work with and change this conditioning.
Coaching Circle Week: Resilience and Conditioned Tendency 5:00-6:30pm Pacific (June 28 - July 2)
We are shaped by our personal and our social experiences. Explore the many “sites” that shape you and others.
You'll learn that the processes of change at these sites differ but are interconnected. Through this, grow your ability to see and hold greater complexity.
What is deeply embodied makes our decisions. Early adaptations and patterns live in our beliefs and in our tissues. Learn how this works, and how we can uproot and transform those that no longer serve us.
Coaching Circle Week: Emotional Autobiography Storytelling 5:00-6:30pm Pacific (July 21)
Deepen your ability to hang out in the “disorganized” phase of embodied transformation. We are not our old shape, yet not quite our new one either.
Our practices support our vision and values, and visa versa. Discover ongoing practices that help you to embody your declarations, increase your resilience, and work well with pressure and change.
You’ll easily connect with your instructors (and your new global community!) face-to-face via video. Joining them online is easy — just use your phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.
Again, don’t worry if you can’t join live! Complete video and audio recordings will be available for you soon after each session.

Maggie Williams works as a social justice advocate, lawyer, and somatic coach. She is the co-founder of the Advocacy Institute, which works to transform the legislative and political landscape of New York for justice and dignity.
The Advocacy Institute trains and supports social justice and movement building organizations to lead more effective and efficient legislative campaigns. Before co-founding AI, Maggie worked in the New York State Senate and as an advocate on criminal justice issues. Maggie started studying somatics with Strozzi Institute in August of 2011 and became a certified somatic coach in December of 2012.
Maggie attributes the powerful ways that she has expanded her offer – with individual coaching clients, with the team at the Advocacy Institute, and in her personal life – to the study of somatics.
Since becoming a coach, Maggie has studied with Strozzi’s partner organization, generative somatics, worked with clients one-on-one, led a process to integrate somatics into staff development at the Advocacy Institute, and based core elements of her social justice work on somatic principles. She is excited to join the teaching team and help others to expand their offers in new ways.
