Carey Smith (Hilo, HI) is a Master Somatic Coach who lives on a lush farmstead on the Big Island of Hawaii. She is a master teacher and artist with four decades of experience in body-oriented education. Her work as a teacher trainer, coach and consultant enables individuals and groups to translate their vision into effective action as they bring forth what they most value. Carey is the founder of the Center for Embodied Teacher Education and past co-director of the Body Therapy Institute, a school of massage and somatic therapies. She is actively engaged in the confluence of body, earth and imagination – the interplay between somatics, ecology and the creative process.
