Anela Barboza Seliskar (she/her/ʻoia/they) is passionate about making Somatics accessible to historically marginalized populations. She is dedicated to the development and growth of Somatic coaches and committed to shaping safe learning spaces for all folx.
She is deeply committed to creating a safe and fiercely loving container for BIPOC, mixed race, and intersectional folx exploring questions of identity, culture, race, sites of oppression and shaping, longing, place/home, and resiliency work as a means of personal transformation and healing.
Anela understands that it is a gift and a blessing to partner with clients as they move toward some of their deepest longings and holds this kuleana with care.

Anela’s perspective and approach to coaching has been shaped by her living experience as a diasporic kanaka maoli (Native Hawaiian), born and raised away from her home, culture, and family in a predominantly white, gentrified culture. Deeply impacted by racism and patriarchy, her personal transformation included Somatics as a means to heal the current, ancestral, and community bodies for the sake of entering and blending with what is and what can be. In 2022, she faced her deepest longing and fears to return her family back home to Hawaiʻi.

Anela is a Somatic Coach and Mentor Coach, certified by the International Coaches Federation (PCC) and Strozzi Institute. She works with Strozzi methodology, as well as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Coaching (CBC) and is rooted in the learning and study of her cultural traditions.
