The coaching profession is at an important turning point with the integration of somatics into the broader culture. Somatics treats the body as an essential place of change, learning and transformation. Strozzi Institute has refined its methodology over 30 years, and is the international leader in training coaches in this powerful, principled course of study.

Through your studies at Strozzi Institute you will gain more than a new methodology – you will embody new abilities. The result? You will become a more confident and competent coach – and you will have the capacity to produce greater sustainable change for your clients.

We offer a Somatic coaching certification program for coaches, trained therapists, psychologists, teachers, physical trainers and organizational group leaders interested in learning our Somatic methodology for work with individual and organizational clients.

To work somatically with someone is to work with the whole self – the unity of thoughts, moods and emotions and action. You will develop your ability to observe how life takes shape in the individual and how the individual presents himself or herself to the world. You will learn and practice body awareness interventions through listening, speaking, breathing, touch and movement. This program takes you deep into Strozzi Institute's discourse that integrates linguistic coordination, verbal and non-verbal communication, presence, and a somatic sensibility. This is the only coaching certification program that trains coaches this deeply in the relevance of the entire body.

This certification program is designed to train people in the Strozzi Institute's methodology to work one-on-one with your clients. Depending on your schedule, certification may be obtained within one year or extended over a longer period of time.

Certification also requires a Somatic Coaching Package which consists of six hours of Somatic Coaching with a Strozzi Institute Associate during which they will work directly with you.

There is also a one-time Administrative Fee to process your application for certification, and to provide access to conference calls and various materials. It also insures the additional level of attention to your learning, and coordination between teachers and coaches to produce the richest learning environment possible.

Upon completion of your program, if you are using your Strozzi Institute certification in your work with groups, either publicly or in organizations we will enter into a licensing agreement conversation.

Full tuition: $13,450 (Discount Programs are available*)

Coaching Package: $1,200

*Discount Programs:

  1. Early Registration Discount: If you provide a $500.00 non-refundable deposit with your registration and pay your tuition balance in full 45 days (or more) in advance of the course start date you will receive a early registration discount of $150.00. This discount may be used for each of the following courses: Leadership in Action, Advanced Leadership, School of Embodied Leadership and Somatic Spirit.
  2. Pay in Full 20% Discount: If you are ready to commit to the full course of Somatic Coach study, which includes Leadership in Action, Advanced Leadership and the Somatic Bodywork seminar and pay in full for all four courses in advance of your first course, you will receive a 20% discount on the list price of all courses. The Strozzi Institute Somatic Coach program at list price is $13,450.00 and with the pay-in-full discount is $11,150.00. (Please note that the $750 Administrative fee and $1200 Coaching Package is not included.)
